it's easy to fix with a modification to /usr/lib/cgi-bin/movabletype/mt-config.cgi per http://www.movabletype.org/documentation/appendices/config-directives/captchasourceimagebase.html CaptchaSourceImageBase /usr/share/movabletype/static/images/captcha-source/ fixes it.
