Hi Daniel, I'm sending you /var/lib/dpkg/status and /var/lib/aptitude/pkgstates privately (they aren't secret, just big). These two weren't enough for me to reproduce the issue as explained at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=495954#91 Probably because I've got no clue what an apt status file could be. /var/lib/apt contains package lists only, which sure were backed up, but also refreshed just before the upgrade, so the backups aren't worth much, I'm afraid.
