I can reproduce this issue with current versions of Midori. I can also reproduce it with current versions of Opera and Firefox. The "core" of the problem is that copy-and-paste isn't as simple as it sounds, and basically Firefox, Opera and Midori choose to do things in a way that is at odds with the way traditional programs like xterm and Emacs behave. For gory details: http://www.jwz.org/doc/x-cut-and-paste.html In Emacs, you can work around this with the following in .emacs: (setq x-select-enable-clipboard t) Unfortunately I don't know how to address the issue generally; particularly, I haven't worked out how to make pasting from fancy-pants browsers into xterm/rxvt work. Also unfortunately, I don't have references to the "WONTFIX: we like it this way, so you can just go to hell" responses from the Firefox developers. I vaguely recall that it doesn't affect people who are running bloaty desktop environments like KDE and GNOME, presumably because some intermediary clipboard daemon ensures that all the clipboard subsystems contain the same data. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
