Package: install Severity: normal
-- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-5-486 Locale: LANG=es_CO.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_CO.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) When installing Debian etch r3 or r4 (tried with i386) the tasksel window doesn't appear even the message "running tasksel..." is shown below the progress bar. By looking in tty4 I managed to see some weird messages about tasksel. Seems like there are some syntax problems in the string parameters passed to tasksel as window title (and may be others). The final result is that the Debian installer goes on and installs the base system and the graphical enviroment leaving no option to the user of selecting to not install the graphical enviroment or to install the offered servers. Although these packages can be installed later manually, until Etch r2 the tasksel menu appeared correctly and let the user choose the desired system components. I performed a test using the debian-40r4a-etchnhalf-i386-netinst.iso image running a normal gui install and didn't have that problem. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
