Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the unzoo package.

We already have the "zoo" package in Debian which AFAICT is also able to extract zoo archive files. I have, however, never had the chance to check this, because nowadays zoo archives are... well... rather unusual, to say the least.

Technically, the package is in a very good shape and bug-free. However, I dont' know if this package is still of use for anybody at all (though it has a few popcon votes). If noone wants to adopt it until the lenny release, I'll request its removal from the archive after lenny. Maybe the zoo package could Provide: unzoo for a transitional time frame.

The package description is:
A zoo archive is a file that contains several files, called
its members, usually in compressed form to save space. 'unzoo'
can list all or selected members or extract all or selected
members, i.e., uncompress them and write them to files. It
cannot add new members or delete members. For this you need
        the zoo archiver, called 'zoo'.
