Package: sox
Version: 12.17.7-2
Followup-For: Bug #311118

The real reason to enable ALSA support is so that the ALSA dmix
plugin can be used to mix audio streams via software, enabling more than
one program access to the sound device. aoss works in some cases with
sox, but I'm sure native support would be preferred as it is an option.

That's all assuming that sox doesn't have some huge issue using
ALSA. If it does, then it may not be worth the trouble.
