tags 466565 +wontfix thanks So I talked to upstream about this, but I see I forgot to put anything in the bug log about it.
Upstream's opinion at the time I talked to them was that libraries often write to STDERR, as they have no knowledge (nor should they) about applications logging mechanisms. I suppose it might be reasonable to try to capture the STDERR stream and do something useful with it in the application, but for now, this is wontfix since upstream is happy with the default behavior.
