Package: locales Version: 2.3.2.ds1-21 Followup-For: Bug #310550 Lars and Masanori,
thank you for your answers. I first tried the suggested mount option "nolock" but without any change in the result. Then I investigated the locking on the NFS server and found that the user-space NFS server does not provide this. I remember explicitly using user-space instead of kernel-space because of problems with exporting /dir with default settings and /dir/usr with option no-root-squash. The kernel-nfs server would complain about an "invalid argument" so I switched to the user-space NFS daemon as suggested in IRC. I guess, right now I am SOL.
