After dist-upgrading it can be purged, it does not contain anything. There is no PostgreSQL version 7.5 (that's a fake version to make it newer than all Sarge packages), likewise Sid does not have "the" postgresql server package any more. There is one for 7.4 and one for 8.0. Calling one of them just "postgresql" would be pretty confusing.
