Package: xorp Version: 1.5-4 Debian ver: Unstable
Hello! The init script in xorp 1.5-4 debian package use the "daemon" wrapper package to turn the xorp_rtrmgr into the background. But it is not necessary anymore because the xorp 1.5 release has the property in the xorp_rtrmgr. >From the release notes: http://www.xorp.org/releases/current/docs/RELEASE_NOTES RTRMGR: - Addition of preliminary mechanism to log events to a file or to a syslog facility. - Addition of support to run XORP in background (in daemon mode). Invocation: xorp_rtrmgr -d So in my opinion the init script can use the standard start-stop-daemon facility.
