Yes, I have been able to reproduce the bug with strict checking set to
on.

This is now with a full IMAP setup, filters set up in sylpheed to move
emails to subdirectories on the IMAP server and sylpheed set to apply
filters to INBOX upon receiving email.

I received three emails, one for debian-devel, one for debian-mentors
and one for INBOX. The emails were correctly sorted and filtered but
clicking on the mentors folder and selecting the unread message changed
the tray icon, as if no more unread email existed - despite the fact
that sylpheed has itself just moved unread email from INBOX to devel
and the devel folder is still highlighted in bold and the new email in
devel is clearly unread.
