dimensions: 480x640 pixels (43x58 millimeters) resolution: 284x280 dots per inch which is probably correct so maybe we need some GTK option to use smaller fonts? Under xserver-xorg-video-fbdev xpdyinfo reports dimensions: 640x480 pixels (169x127 millimeters) resolution: 96x96 dots per inch and the fonts look ok.
