i'd like to confirm this problem also for xfce4 sessions started using startxfce4 (without startx; 3 different machines, 2xamd64, 1xi386, all testing up-to-date).

in two cases (both i386), no keypresses at all are generated before the x starts (i am using the --autologin parameter of rungetty). on the amd64 machine, normal login, followed by startxfce4 is used.

in xorg.conf, i have layouts "en,cz,de" and variants ",qwerty,". removing/adding the plugin solves the problem for one session, after reboot it's back.

apparently (as i have found on the web), archlinux had similar problem a year ago:
http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/8595
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=39529
however, i've found nothing new there and i don't see the glibc error messages anywhere, so it probably is something else.

best,
