severity 502214 wishlist thanks Hi Markus
Ok, thanks a lot! Then my conclusion is that this is a wishlist bug. Rather easy to fix, but still not something that is stated that it should work. If you can provide a patch I will include that one in next upload. This upload will likely happen when Lenny is released, which should be "rather soon now". If you do not have a patch, then I will fix this next time I have the time for this kind of improvements. It should be a fairly easy one to fix though. :) Best regards, // Ola On Fri, Oct 17, 2008 at 12:16:58PM +0200, Markus Fischer wrote: > Hi, > > Ola Lundqvist wrote: > >Where is this option described? > > > > >On Tue, Oct 14, 2008 at 05:15:57PM +0200, Markus Fischer wrote: > >>Upon the first launch, vnc4server with the option '-SecurityTypes None' > >>still asks for a password, even though I specified no authentication to > >>be used. > >> > >>vnc4server passes unknown options down to Xvnc, however in this case it > >>should be aware of it, see this code: > > > The vnc4server man page says > > "In addition to the options listed below, any unrecognised options will > be passed to Xvnc - see the Xvnc man page, or "Xvnc > -help" for details." > > The Xvnc man page says > > " -SecurityTypes sec-types > Specify which security schemes to use separated by > commas.
