I'm a little embarrassed by proposing you this solution, but since here I was able to replicate your bug (in a de_DE locale) and now no-more, I'd like to kindly ask you to try this: # apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade; apt-get remove --purge reportbug; apt-get install reportbug Well, "dist-upgrade" it's not strictly needed but it's just an easy way to have all the needed libraries updated. Let me know if this fixes the problem.
