The left logo key is, under X, a modifier key. You can set it to do something else using the keyboard preferences capplet. As for the shortcut for opening the main menu, it is alt-F1 by default, and you can configure it in the keyboard shortcuts capplet. Cheers, -- .''`. : :' : We are debian.org.
