The geda package is only a meta-package used to depend on gschem etc. If
you don't want geda-doc then you can install geda-gschem etc directly;
there's no requirement to install the geda package.

The latest release will be packaged asap. I don't think it's likely that
we will provide a git package; it's too labour intensive to keep it up
to date.
