please don't forget to include this feature as soon as debhelper (>= 7) is shipped in Debian stable. The difference between calling 'dh_prep' instead of 'dh_clean -k' is that the latter also removes the files listed in debian/clean, which is sometimes (most certainly!) not what you want the install rule to do.
