Package: login Version: 1:4.0.3-35 Severity: important After using /bin/su to change to either the super user or another user, the bash 'suspend' command fails to work properly. It does stop the process, but it fails to return control to the parent shell. Once stopped, it moves the cursor to a new line, but does not echo any characters typed. Bash 'suspend' command does work correctly from a new bash process started without the su command. (i.e. just running bash from the user prompt.)
The stopped process can be resumed by sending the -CONT signal from another terminal. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.11.11 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages login depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libpam-modules 0.76-22 Pluggable Authentication Modules f ii libpam-runtime 0.76-22 Runtime support for the PAM librar ii libpam0g 0.76-22 Pluggable Authentication Modules l login recommends no packages.
