my email refers to the change log for version wicd (1.5.7-1) which is the 
current version in sid:

Not your email which refers to version 1.5.3, which hasn't been released in 
Debian:
http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/w/wicd/wicd_1.5.7-1/changelog
