Hi, I have an IDE boot disk, and additional SCSI disk that needs module eata listed in /etc/modules in order to be accessible. When the system boots, checkfs.sh runs before module eata loads, and so fsck is not performed on the filesystems on the SCSI disk. /etc/modules is then processed and the SCSI disk is accessible. After that mountall.sh is run, and the filesystems on the SCSI disk are mounted without being checked and without having fsck run on the filesystems. The modules listed in /etc/modules should probably be loaded before checkfs.sh is run. I'm also a little suprised that module eata doesn't get loaded automatically earlier on as my initramfs has the default configuration of "most". -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.28 (SMP w/1 CPU core; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages initscripts depends on: ii debianutils 2.30 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii e2fsprogs 1.41.3-1 ext2/ext3/ext4 file system utiliti ii libc6 2.7-16 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii lsb-base 3.2-20 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii mount 2.13.1.1-1 Tools for mounting and manipulatin ii sysvinit-utils 2.86.ds1-61 System-V-like utilities Versions of packages initscripts recommends: ii psmisc 22.6-1 Utilities that use the proc filesy initscripts suggests no packages. -- debconf-show failed -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
