Package: e2fsprogs
Version: 1.37-2
Severity: normal
File: /sbin/fsck

fsck -fnc /dev/whatever does not honor the -n flag; instead, it will
actually restore the journal. (I didn't wait to see what else it will
do.)

While there *is* a warning about doing fsck on a mounted filesystem,
there is no warning that -n (which is supposed to make this safe) will
not be honored.

This is especially dangerous as -fn works just fine, and -c is supposed
to be read-only anyway, so there is no expectation that any writes will
actually be attempted until that happens.
