Package: stunnel4
Version: 3:4.22-2

Hi,

this problem does not ocour with stunnel 4.18 (etch).
I went through intermediate releases (taken from ubuntu) and noticed, that the
problem starts in 4.21. Version 4.20 still works as expected.

The problem disappeared, when I added the "--disable-libwrap" switch to the
"configure" line in debian/rules.

A symptom of this problem is the existence of multiple processes after startup:
 erker:~/ttt/stunnel/testing/stunnel4-4.22# ps -ef| grep stun
 root 29364 1 0 13:37 pts/1 00:00:00 src/stunnel -fd 0
 root 29365 1 0 13:37 pts/1 00:00:00 src/stunnel -fd 0
 root 29366 1 0 13:37 pts/1 00:00:00 src/stunnel -fd 0
 root 29367 1 0 13:37 pts/1 00:00:00 src/stunnel -fd 0
 root 29368 1 0 13:37 pts/1 00:00:00 src/stunnel -fd 0
 lars 29369 1 0 13:37 ? 00:00:00 src/stunnel -fd 0

The stdout/stderr FDs of the first five root-owned processes are connected
to /dev/pts/1. The user-owned process is connected to /dev/null (as it should
be).

I posted this problem to the stunnel-user mailinglist - see
http://stunnel.mirt.net/pipermail/stunnel-users/2009-January/002218.html

Hopefully, upstream will take care for the problem ...

Lars
