Printing does not work in mousepad, when xfce4 is installed by default, because xfprint4 (and a2ps) are missing. Maybe change the dependencies, to install xfprint4 and a2ps with mousepad? (reading the package description, it tells about beeing mousepad basically a "new" leafpad with printing support added.
