Hi Randy,
epoll support on Alpha is broken on pre-2.6.20 kernels, so this is not
a bug in squid but in the alpha kernel package. It should be fixed in
Etch'n'Half when using 2.6.24 kernel.
Since you report that squid is not starting with this kernel, can you
please provide some more debugging info? A stack trace (see 'strace')
could hint to a possible solution.
