I just came across the same problem. I rebooted the monitor server and suddenly nagios isn't able to login to any host anymore.
Apparently it's private ssh key in it's homedir got wiped out (/var/run/nagios2/.ssh/..., and also it's known_hosts). The homedir really shouldn't be wiped out, and this is a big problem. Please change the severity to grave, as this bug causes data loss. I have to create a new key now, and put it's public key on each host again. Is this bug fixed in lenny?
