this is what I get from RFC 3501, section 6.3.6:

A \NoSelect name is not a mailbox. Thus, if "foo" is a \NoSelect name, it does 
not exist as a mailbox.

Not all mailboxes that appear as output of a LIST imap command are real 
mailboxes, they
could even been deleted and you're still seeing them, that's why the MUA verify 
if the
NoSelect attribute is present, in that case that attribute says that the 
mailbox is not
a valid mailbox.

Now, it could be that the attribute was set by mutt, it could be that your 
client set it, it
could also be your imap server.

So please provide the following info:
1) which IMAP server and which version are you using?
2) how did you create the Shared Folder?
