My /etc/default/mysql-proxy:

ENABLED="true"
OPTIONS="--proxy-address=127.0.0.5:3306 
--proxy-backend-addresses=127.0.0.1:3306 
--proxy-backend-addresses=10.0.0.5:3306"


If I stop mysql on localhost, then mysql-proxy does not send any query to other 
database.
