Hello,

Sorry for the late response, I think I wasn't cced the mail from the bugreport.
And I have returned to using Azureus, mainly due to the fragmentation issue. I
don't have any measurements about the fragmentation, but I had a harddisk that
was approaching unusable (at least with the latest files - I got transfer rates
roughly 10% of what the disk should be able to deliver). To reproduce, try
something like the following: Take a partition, write some files to it, then
add ~ a dozen torrents that roughly fill the remaining space. Delete random
files (both older and newer ones) and repeat. I admit this is a situation where
you can't prevent the fragmentation, because of the lack of remaining space.
But when you have ten growing files all competing for the remaining disk space,
I don't think caching alone will help that much.

Best regards,
Christian Ohm
