How exactly is this the issue? Why should we need more than 1 loop device? 
We don't need all these ISOs mounted at the same time, so we should be 
able to free and reuse the available loop devices.

It seems to me this is  a bug in iso-scan, not in the kernel. How many 
loop devices would you ask them to create? 50? 100? 25.000?

My later reply has already reassigned the BR back to iso-scan, so we now 
have a duplicate open there.
