And the alternative management is badly done, the prerm always removes all the alternatives even for simple upgrades which means that the choice of the administrator is not preserved (his manual choice will get back to auto after each upgrade, any manually installed alternative will also be removed with --remove-all). Hence increasing severity to serious (admin config lost).
