Package: gdb
Version: 6.4.90.dfsg-1
Severity: normal

While trying to debug a program on Debian/SPARC I loaded the binary and
a core-dump into gdb. A simple "bt" then caused the following error
(after displaying part of the backtrace, but not all of it):

/build/buildd/gdb-6.4.90.dfsg/gdb/regcache.c:175: internal-error:
register_size: Assertion `regnum >= 0 && regnum < (NUM_REGS + NUM_PSEUDO_REGS)'
failed.
A problem internal to GDB has been detected,
further debugging may prove unreliable.
Quit this debugging session? (y or n)

I have seen this happen with different binaries and core-files.
A sample set of input files can be provided.
