Both times. When I log in, for a short time my xfce-wallpaper is displayed (Xfce manages the Desktop) but then it is changing to another one (Xfce does not manage the desktop anymore). >Which apps specifically? Try freedroidRPG (freedroidRPG -f for fullscreen and OpenGL, freedroidRPG -n -f for fullscreen and SDL) and freedink (freedink). Setting iceweasel to fullscreen (F11) nothing happen with the desktop.

I usually give Xfce the control over the desktop before logging out. My logout settings are General: Display chooser on login YES Automatically save session on logout YES and Prompt on logout YES Advanced: All NO Thank you for your fine work!
