Upgrades of dbus or avahi-daemon would restart the avahi daemon, some
network events may restart avahi-daemon too I believe (interface
up/down), so that's why I'm asking you.

No, only mt-daapd. If you are on i386, I can send you a lenny build of
the package from unstable; due to a new version of ffmpeg in unstable,
the package from unstable won't install on a lenny system.
