It seems that you are using an unofficial Debian emacs package. What's your Emacs version? I have confirmed that the official package emacs22 22.2+2-5 and the unofficial package emacs-snapshot 1:20090222-1 from http://emacs.orebokech.com are working fine. Thanks, -- Tatsuya Kinoshita
