Unfortunately, your patch was garbled (missing whitespaces). But I already had a very similar patch on my local disk. I just committed the patch to the Perl/Tk SVN repository: https://svn.perl.org/modules/Tk/trunk Can you try to recompile from the SVN repository; if it's still OK for you, then I would make a developer's CPAN release in a few days. I can't speak for the Debian package, I am just the upstream maintainer.
