In addition to Gerfried's suggestion, adding the following lines in the apache
configuration file would make http://localhost/gitweb work out of the box,
provided that the following symbolic link is added in /usr/share/gitweb.
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 2009-03-11 14:18 index.cgi ->
/usr/lib/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi
<Directory /usr/share/gitweb>
Options FollowSymLinks +ExecCGI
AddHandler cgi-script .cgi
