At first - the bug persists with current Lenny. I have not checked,
whether this bug is related to HTML context, but I'll keep an eye on it
in future.
Icedove does retrieve the contents from the IMAP server. It is there for
replies or when displaying the message source. It's just not displayed
in any mode (Plain text, HTML, simplified HTML).
The bug is also filed with Ubuntu as Bug#515569. The Ubuntu bug also
refers to IMAP sources. I can't say whether it appears with POP accounts.
