For the other "unpatients": We don't seem to have a line for /etc/apt/sources.list, but simply downloading and installing manually has been working for me. This ought work on a Lenny system (sequence is important): dpkg -i pidgin-data_2.5.5-1.1~bpo50+1_all.deb dpkg -i libpurple0_2.5.5-1.1~bpo50+1_i386.deb dpkg -i pidgin_2.5.5-1.1~bpo50+1_i386.deb Myself, I did it not in the right sequence, so I had to throw in an additional aptitude install to fix it up in the end.
