wmnut still aims to be the bare X11 NUT app, and many systems still don't
ship pkg-config, at least not by default. so upstreamly speaking, I'll
rewritte the configure.ac but using both the pkg-config + nut-config to
address all use cases.

but to meat everybody's timeframe, I'll first make a 0.62-4 with a minimal
patch based on yours.
I'll then log an LP bug for requesting the Debian sync.
