that is because gmpc now uses GtkStatusIcon (because it is portable to
osX and windows, both platforms gmpc supports) and that does not support
those action.
In 0.18.0 you can get some of the old behauviour back by
--enable-tray-icon, but that is not portable, and based on unsupport
libegg code.
In Gtk 2.16 most of the features can be re-added as GtkStatusIcon
supports more interaction.
