Could you please send me (if needed, by private email) the contents of your
/etc/snort?

The Snort version in lenny has been recently upgraded (due to bug #503992).
Version 2.7.0-20.4 should be available through proposed-updates. Please
upgrade to that version and tell me if the bug reproduces.
