  Of course... The source is from nvidia-kernel-source. The current
unstable version does not work (180.29-1). I think the previous unstable
one did not work either, but I unfortunately don't have the logs to
confirm that.

  Exactly. See:
nvidia-kernel-2.6.26-1-amd64_180.29-1+2.6.26-13_amd64.deb
nvidia-kernel-2.6.29-1-amd64_180.29-1+2.6.29-1_amd64.deb

  The one on 2.6.29 does not load, while the one on 2.6.26 works
perfectly fine.

  Would you like a build log ? How shall I do that with m-a to make sure
you get as much information as possible ?

  BTW, I don't know if that has anything to do with the rest, but:
  * I run m-a build as a normal user (member of src)
  * I install the resulting .deb manually as root with dpkg.
