Hi there. The 'alsaconf' utility was recently removed from 'alsa-utils', so I have been trying to figure out how to do alsaconf-like things without using alsaconf (I wish that alsa-utils doc files provided alternative syntax instead of simply announcing removal). I was reading /usr/share/doc/alsa-base/README.Debian.gz, and it says you can run 'alsa force-unload' to force unload of modules and applications (one of a few things I used to use alsaconf for). However, /usr/sbin/alsa now does nothing when I run it. I checked the script, and it has a section like this near the top: # Exit if alsa-base package is not installed [ -f /lib/alsa/modprobe-post-install ] || exit 0 However, that file is not on my system. "dpkg-query -L alsa-base" doesn't show it, but for some reason "apt-file search '/lib/alsa/modprobe-post-install'" does list it. I unpacked the alsa-base package, and there is no reference to it (either an actual file, or in any of the maintainer scripts). I also tried re-installing the package, but no luck. Thanks for your time.
