Package: e2fsprogs
Version: 1.41.3-1
Severity: minor

The manpage of badblocks tells that the -s option shows the progress
of the scan by writing out the block numbers as they are checked.

Badblocks in current version however shows some percentage instead.

IMHO it was always very useful to see the block numbers. If one had
to interrupt the check of a lagre disk it was clear at which block
one had to continue.
IMHO the percentage is confusing here if one does a full destrucive
test. It runs up from 0% to 100% eight times. This is one for each
read and each write of the four patterns AA, 55, FF and 00.
But this are just remarks, the bug is the discrepancy between what
is shown and what is told to be shown in the manpage.
