inotifyx is required for pytagsfs (which is already in Debian). Upstream of pytagsfs has decided to use inotifyx instead of python-inotify because of its frequent breakage. Thus this ITP. Looking at the authors announcement email [1], looks like python-inotify is going to be further maintained as inotifyx.
