Package: aptitude Severity: wishlist Hi, I would like to have a more explicit message when aptitude can't install a package because of a failed Depends: on a virtual package not provided by any real package. For example the current apt 0.6 transition in unstable:
The following packages have unmet dependencies: dak: Depends: libapt-pkg-libc6.3-5-3.3 which is a virtual package. this is a little misleading, perhaps something like: The following packages have unmet dependencies: dak: Depends: libapt-pkg-libc6.3-5-3.3 which is a virtual package and not provided by any real package. thanks, filippo
