Works for me on freshly installed 2.0.5-1.1.

Can you please verify you did it like this:
1) Entered only the node part of the admin JID in the appropriate
   debconf question (say, if you want admin JID to be
   "ad...@kitenet.net" you should have entered "admin" when debconf
   asked for the admin's username).
2) You used the full JID when logging into admin web interface
   (i.e. "ad...@kitenet.net")?

The second requirement is due to the fact ejabberd supports
virtual hosts so that admin must use their full JID.
