Package: krb5-user
Version: 1.6.dfsg.4~beta1-5lenny1
Severity: important
File: /usr/bin/kpasswd

*** Please type your report below this line *** The kpasswd utility
does not decode error returns from the library. This results in
user-incomprehensible numeric error messages. For example:

gaw-t...@scooby-doo:~$ kpasswd
Password for [email protected]:
Enter new password: [I type a password that is too short]
Enter it again:
Password change rejected: Unknown error -1492553974

The same bug appears in etch with identical symptoms. It appears that
the initialize_ovku_error_table() function is not being called when
kpasswd starts up. The same bug also appears in upstream krb5 1.6.3
on my FreeBSD systems; I haven't tested 1.6.4 beta.
