Package: ekiga Version: 2.0.12-1+nmu1 Severity: important When working with the main russian sip-provider 'sipnet.ru', Lenny's Ekiga client shows that the registration process is failed. If timeout is set to default 3600, Ekiga writes at the status line (translating from russian) "Registration failed: Forbidden", if I increase default value, it writes "Registration failed: Timeout". Both messages appear almost instantly after the try to connect. Or, sometimes, instead of both these messages, Ekiga hangs up for a very long time, not showing any registration status and even not exiting - then only killing helps. An admin of sipnet.ru said me that some times he see the successfull registration of my account and even said my version of Ekiga to prove it. May be, those successful registrations take place when my client hangs up.
I was successfully using Etch's Ekiga for few months with the same sipnet.ru, the same account and the same options. I have rebooted to Etch today and - here we go - registrated succesfully and instantly again. So, in Lenny's version it's really broken the possibility to work with the main russian sip-provider. Very, very pity. I tried to backport Etch's version from Lenny sources, but with no success - it needed to remove all GNOME and many other packages because of build-dep to the specific version of libpt. Please, restore the sipnet.ru support. If you need some information of this provider, I can not promise to get it but I can try. Or you can try to make account and login to it yourselves? -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ru_RU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages ekiga depends on: ii evolution-data-server 2.22.3-1.1 evolution database backend server ii gconf2 2.22.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.20-2 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libatk1.0-0 1.22.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libaudiofile0 0.2.6-7 Open-source version of SGI's audio ii libavahi-client3 0.6.23-3lenny1 Avahi client library ii libavahi-common3 0.6.23-3lenny1 Avahi common library ii libavahi-glib1 0.6.23-3lenny1 Avahi glib integration library ii libbonobo2-0 2.22.0-1 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-0 2.22.0-1 The Bonobo UI library ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcairo2 1.6.4-7 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libebook1.2-9 2.22.3-1.1 Client library for evolution addre ii libedataserver1.2-9 2.22.3-1.1 Utility library for evolution data ii libesd0 0.2.36-3 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Shared ii libgcc1 1:4.3.2-1.1 GCC support library ii libgconf2-4 2.22.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglib2.0-0 2.16.6-1+lenny1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome2-0 2.20.1.1-1 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomecanvas2-0 2.20.1.1-1 A powerful object-oriented display ii libgnomeui-0 2.20.1.1-2 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-0 1:2.22.0-5 GNOME Virtual File System (runtime ii libgtk2.0-0 2.12.12-1~lenny1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libopal-2.2 2.2.11~dfsg1-4 Open Phone Abstraction Library - s ii liborbit2 1:2.14.13-0.1 libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpango1.0-0 1.20.5-3+lenny1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpopt0 1.14-4 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libpt-1.10.10 1.10.10-2 Portable Windows Library ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.13-2 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii libsm6 2:1.0.3-2 X11 Session Management library ii libstdc++6 4.3.2-1.1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.1.5-2 X11 client-side library ii libxml2 2.6.32.dfsg-5 GNOME XML library Versions of packages ekiga recommends: ii yelp 2.22.1-8+b1 Help browser for GNOME 2 Versions of packages ekiga suggests: pn asterisk <none> (no description available) pn callweaver <none> (no description available) pn gnugk <none> (no description available) pn mediaproxy <none> (no description available) pn openser <none> (no description available) pn rtpproxy <none> (no description available) pn ser <none> (no description available) pn siproxd <none> (no description available) pn yate <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
